- What is the Michigan Stroke Initiative (MSI)? MSI is a multidisciplinary partnership of experts involved in stroke care to raise stroke awareness, prevent stroke, and improve stroke treatment and rehabilitation care throughout Michigan.
- Current and recent MSI activities and accomplishments:
- Participate in the Stroke Expert Writing Group charged with creating a Stroke System of Care for Michigan. Provide stroke expertise and recommendations within three subcommittees: 1) Data; 2) Facility verification; and 3) Designation impacting systems work and development of administrative roles.
- Drafted legislative language to enable the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to create systems of care in Michigan. (Contributors include the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and other representatives.)
